Paternity

CALL NOW (541) 685-1288
Either parent or the child’s legal guardian may initiate the proceeding to establish paternity. Paternity is presumed when the child is born during marriage. The proceeding can be initiated before or after the child’s birth. If the child is born to unmarried parents, paternity must be established before child support, custody, and parenting time can be awarded.

Our Oregon paternity lawyers have the knowledge and experience you need to initiate or defend a paternity action. We invite you to contact our law office as soon as you know the child will be born and speak with one of our attorneys in order to ensure your rights are protected when it comes to issues of custody, parenting time, and child support.
